A Bend in the Road

January 5 - January 8

"Fasten your seatbelt Dorothy, 'cause Kansas is going bye-bye."

Cypher -The Matrix

The third quarter opens with a glimpse at Fairy Tales, not the stories of youth, but the real deal. We spend the first three weeks of the semester investigating the real tales behind the embellished stories of your youth and examine their role in society, bridging the worlds of childhood and adulthood. The unit blends myth and legend, film and art, and enables you to work with partners investigating short fiction and subtextual meanings not obvious to the casual observer. All classes (except AP) will work off of this main page, using its contents to navigate through the site as necessary. We will be working out of our Kennedy text this semester (Literature: An Introduction to Fiction, Poetry, Drama, and Writing). Plan on bringing this text to class on a daily basis.
